Abstract: With the denitrifying phosphorus accumulation bacteria (DPB) from sludge at the A2/O anaerobic stage, the static and dynamic denitrifying phosphorus accumulation experiments were carried out. The results show that the anaerobic sludge from A2/O technology has 52% phosphorus accumulating organisms bearing denitrifying and removing phosphorus. During the removing phosphorus process, the concentration of nitrate which is used as electronic acceptor should be lower than 50 mg/L. The higher the initial concentration of nitrate is, the higher the denitrifying and anoxic phosphorus accumulation rate and removal efficiency are. And the time for the system changing from the accumulating phosphorus state to releasing phosphorus state is delayed. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) must be controlled because of the competition between anaerobic and anoxic process, the best is 200 mg/L; pH value has different effects on the anaerobic and anoxic stage. When the initial pH value is higher in a certain range, the releasing phosphorus is accelerated, but phosphate is deposited when pH value is above 8.0 and then the biological phosphate removal is disturbed, which suggests that the pH value should be controlled in the rang of 7.0-7.5 for the denitrifying and removing phosphorus system.
