铝热法还原五氧化二铌

摘 要:采用五氧化二铌为原料,铝粉作为还原剂,通过改进装料方式,在三氧化二铝衬里的敞开反应器内,实现了直接室温点火还原。研究了还原剂过量系数、炉料发热量、还原规模对金属产率的影响。当每炉装料1kg、采用铝过量15%、炉料发热量为272×10~4J/kg时,金属产率高达98.5%。
Abstract: This investigation deals with niobium extraction process based on the aluminothermic reductionof its pentoxide in an alumina-lined reactor. An improved charging method is adopted and thethermit reaction at roon temperature is initiated by lighting a fuse in the center of the charge.Reduction with 15 per cent of excess of aluminum over stoichiometric requirement and with about 270×104 J/kg exothermicity of the charge reaction is found to be acceptable. The tests with 0.2to 1 kg batches of niobium pentoxide has resulted in high yields of niobium in a massive form.
