Abstract: Induced flotation behaviors of some sulphide minerals have been investigated. It is found that there exists a great difference between the flotation behavior of every two minerals. On the basis of this phenomenon, new flotation flowsheets for the separation of sulfide ores have been designed. Two of them are termed as the selective self-induced flotation flowsheet of chalcopyrite and the selective Na2S-induced flotation flowsheet of pyrite. The laboratory and pilot plant scale tests of the two new flowsheets have been conducted to treat different types of sulphide ores. They were respectively one copper-zinc-arsenic ore and two copper ores, and a lead-zinc-sulfur ore and a molybdenum-bismuth-sulfur ore.The flotation results are more satisfactory than those by the conventional xanthate flotation flowsheets. In addition, the consumptions of flotation reagents are smaller and the structures of flowsheet are simpler
