Abstract: High temperature wear resistance of Al2O3SiO2/ZL108 composites prepared by squeeze casting was investigated. The results show that the composites exhibit excellent wear resistance at high temperature and room temperature. Particularly at 300 ℃, the composites still show good wear resistance while the severe adhesion happened in the ZL108 alloy. Moreover, the yield strength, bending strength and micro hardness of the composite were higher than those of ZL108 alloy. The worn surfaces were examined through a scanning electron microscope. The results also show that the fiber in the composites put pack formation of the groove, which improved the wear resistance of the composites. The effect of microstructure on the mechanical properties and the strengthening mechanism in Al2O3/ZL108 composites were discussed.
